Data for US States
- Obtained from the United States Census Bureau website
- (Census 2000: State and State Equivalent Areas in ARC/INFO Export (.e00) format)
- (Converted from ASCII Ungenerate format to Longitude and Latitude with UseIT's PoliticalBoundaryConvert.java)
 
Data for Russia
- Obtained from Penn State University Libraries' website in Lambert format, from ESRI's "Digital Chart of the World Server."
- Converted from Lambert to Lat/Long format with converter from the Australian Government Department of the Environment and Heritage.
 
Data for the rest of the world
- obtained from Penn State University Libraries' website in Arc/INFO export format, from ESRI's "Digital Chart of the World Server."
- Converted to Lat/Long format with UseIT's PoliticalBoundaryConvert2.java
