Overview
SCEC-VDO software is used to display the NeoKinema Model used in UCERF3. This video showcases the NeoK model through an aerial tour around California, beginning in Southern California and circling counter-clockwise around the entire state. The NeoK was made using geodetic, geologic, and principal-stress data to estimate long-term velocity and is not based on a block geometry.
Slip rate is shown by fault color using a logarithmic color scale; blue represents lowest slip rates (.1mm/yr), while yellow represent highest slip rates (40mm/yr); gray colors indicate faults with unknown slip rates. Slip rates are original non-reduced rates, the geometry type used for fault display is 2.0-size points, and the grid spacing is 1.0 on a Stirling surface type.
