SCEC Annual Meeting
The 2012 SCEC Annual Meeting will be held September 8-12 in Palm Springs, California at the Hilton Palm Springs Resort. The Annual Meeting is an opportunity for the entire SCEC community to share and get updates on SCEC research projects and activities, as well as plan collaborations for the coming year. Beyond workshops and discussions throughout the week, there are poster sessions whereby the research done by all the SCEC interns (ACCESS, USEIT, SURE) as well as SCEC scientists are presented.
All interns are expected to present at this exciting event. SCEC covers transportation to/from the meeting (if driving, gas is covered at a rate of $.50/mi), the hotel room (4 people per room) for the entire meeting, and food (given that you eat the meals provided at the meeting). Since the event takes place at the beginning of most students' Fall Semesters, there may be extenuating circumstances preventing an intern's attendance. However, official letters will be available for all interns to turn in to professors, supervisors, etc. to request to be excused for the Annual Meeting. Note: Regardless of whether or not you can attend, submission of an abstract and poster is required.
